This page explains how we arrange appointments following a referral or self-referral to our clinic. It includes information about waiting times, how our cancellation list works, and the options available depending on whether you are an NHS, private or self-referred patient.

  • If you are an NHS patient at your own dentist

Our current waiting times for NHS treatment are approximately 6-9 months. We are doing our very best to shorten this time and thank you for your patience if you are currently waiting.

We operate a cancellation service, so if you are experiencing pain, please contact us and we will place you on this list.

We can have up to 50 patients on this list at any one time, so if you are offered an appointment at short notice and refuse it, you will be placed back on our normal waiting list. This is to enable us to work through our cancellation list and help as many people as possible. We thank you for your understanding regarding this policy.

We can see you privately if you would like to be seen sooner. The clinic has private clinics after normal working hours and on Saturdays. Please contact us for an appointment and an estimate of treatment costs.

We try to keep our clinic free for NHS appointments during normal working hours, Monday to Friday.

  • If you are a private patient at your own dentist

If you wish to be treated privately, as you are at your own dentist, we can provide you with an estimate of our fees. The waiting times for private treatment are normally no more than 2 weeks.

We can also see you on the NHS through our normal NHS waiting list (approximately 6-9 months). There is an additional £50 referral fee on top of your NHS charges, unless you are registered as an NHS patient with your own dentist. This fee replaces the payments that would have been made to the clinic by the NHS, if you were a registered NHS patient.

  • Self referral

We can see you without a referral from a dentist. This would be on a private basis and can only be for oral surgery procedures.

We do not see patients for standard dental check-ups, fillings, scaling, or other forms of dental care. If you are not registered with a dentist for you your ongoing dental care, we very strongly recommend that you do so. Your local health authority should be able to help you source a general dentist.

Please be aware that you will be examined by one of our dental surgeons and they will assess your issue and discuss it with you. It may be that the best course of treatment for you is not available at our clinic. In this case we shall advise you of where to seek further help. A consultation fee and fees for any x-rays taken would be payable, in this case. Details of all our fees can be provided for you prior to your appointment.
